ABU DHABI: SEE MORE. LIVE MORE. LOVE MORE

National Geographic, 2019/20

I was approached by National Geographic to work on a second branded content partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism under the tagline Abu Dhabi: See More. Live More. Love More.

Three amazingly talented creatives – adventure photographer and filmmaker Renan Ozturk, musician and composer Paul D. Miller and artist and storyteller Jeremy Collins – were sent to Abu Dhabi to experience different facets of the destination and produce a piece of work inspired by their experiences.

I was commissioned to create all the written content for the project, including profiles of the creators, stories about their experiences in Abu Dhabi, descriptions of their work and some of their destination highlights, as well as three articles for nationalgeographic.com and a branded content insert for the print edition of National Geographic magazine, which was published in May 2020.


ABU DHABI: SEE IT. LIVE IT. LOVE IT.

National Geographic Traveler, 2018/19

This colourful creative campaign between National Geographic Traveler and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism was the prequel to the project above. After a very detailed brief, the Nat Geo Traveler team and I came up with a shortlist of destinations that we believed would stimulate the senses of two creative talents: National Geographic photographer Michael Yamashita and Parisian artist Ugo Gattoni.

Michael returned with an evocative collection of images that captured the multi-faceted character of the destination, while Ugo returned to Paris with a notebook full of sketches, which he turned into whimsical, surreal images of the destination, brought to life by Nat Geo’s animation team.

I was commissioned to write all of the editorial content for the website, including artist profiles, interviews, destination content and image captions, as well as a four-page feature for the print edition of National Geographic Traveler.


SCENE OWNERS’ MAGAZINE

Kempinski Hotels, 2018-20

As well as the beautiful guest magazine, Travelling in Style, Kempinski Hotels publishes a limited-edition title for the owners, investors and other strategic partners of its global hotel collection: Scene Owners’ Magazine.

Having worked on a number of strategic communications and brand campaigns with Kempinski, I was commissioned to help produce two issues of the magazine, which involved everything from writing the cover stories and interviewing owners and executives, to subediting the publications and getting these beautiful titles ready for publication.


SMALL SIPS, BIG BITES

Accor Hotel Group, 2018-19

This bilingual title was created by Accor’s Luxe Europe team to keep the thousands of ladies and gentlemen working across Accor’s enormous portfolio of restaurants and bars informed about the latest trends in the food and beverage industry and the goings-on at other Accor properties.

I was commissioned to write numerous articles and cover stories published across four issues of the magazine, including destination features, chef interviews, restaurant reviews and trends pieces covering topics such as the emergence of zero-waste restaurants and the power of storytelling in the F&B experience.
